Advisian Benchmark Tool assists WorleyParsons in cataloguing and comparing project benchmarks.
Project Overview
This application was created for Advisian Digital Enterprise to provide benchmark capturing, organization, and comparisons.
Once users are authenticated, they are able to create and update company projects with benchmark data and upload attachments for reference. Administrators can customize the categorization hierarchy and manage users.
We opted to build this project using ASP.NET MVC Core 2.0 to easily build out a data model using entity framework. We used several different Telerik web controls for the dynamic categories, user administration, search, and file upload.

The Challenge & Solution
By creating controls that allowed administrators to dynamically modify the category structure of different benchmarks, we gave them the ability to modify the organization of their benchmarks without needing to rely on a development team to make the changes for them.
We focused on making the process of creating projects, adding benchmarks, categorizing them, and attaching files as simple and straightforward as possible. The user experience is optimized for quick data entry and project benchmark lookups.

Leveraging ASP.NET Identity for user authentication. Roles are assigned for different levels of permissions.

Projects are easily created or updated using an autocomplete field that determines whether a project exists, allowing for efficient data entry. Category dropdowns are populated dynamically.

The search tool allows users to query based on text found within the project or benchmark, as well as filters based on the dynamic category dropdowns.

Administrators have access to modify the available categorization of benchmarks without needing to consult with the development team. User accounts and roles can also be created and assigned.

Using Teleriks File Upload control, users can easily attach reference documents to benchmarks.
